Second PFF Women D-Certificate Football Coaching Course

Lahore, 24 Jan  : The second
PFF Women D-Certificate Football Coaching Course, will be held at Lahore’s FIFA Football House from 13-18 March 2010. PFF asked Robina Irfan-led PFF Women Wing to submit the final list of 24 participants to PFF by 20 February 2010.

‘On the directives of Pakistan Football Federation (PFF)'s President Makhdoom Syed Faisal Saleh Hayat, Operation Cell used to conduct such course during which prominent coaches will give lectures to women coaches under 35 years of age. The lectures were based on rules of the game, basics of coaching, planning for training and coaching, little know-how about injuries, body changes as a result of exercises," said PFF Secretary General Lt.Col ® Ahmed Yar Khan Lodhi.

According to PFF Women Wing Chairperson Robina Irfan, "To strengthen women club culture is in PFF Chief Faisal Saleh Hayat's long-term planning and according to him coaches will play vital role in this regard. The Course will enable the participants to take up coming challenge. Before advent of Faisal Saleh Hayat in 2003, there were seldom any women football activity but now PFF managing lot of courses and seminars for females as well as regular hosting of National Championship and National Club Championship, earning lot of praise from FIFA and AFC.

“Aiming to improve the abilities and techniques of coaches, PFF decided to conduct the course and the six-day Course will see the appearance of  24 participants from provincial,  regional association, clubs and top organizations like Pakistan WAPDA, Pakistan Army, Higher Education Commission (HEC),”
said PFF Women Wing Administrator Hurria Hussein.

“Women Coaching Course, held from 13 to 18 August 2009, was the first-ever for Women coaches around the country under the aegis of PFF which used to run such course for women annually,” said Ahmed who is also member AFC Vision Asia Bureau. He added that in order to give earlier exposure to women coaches about the courses, two gold medalists of National Women Championship, Sumera Aftab (Rawalpindi’s Young Rising Star) and Ishrat Fatima (Punjab University) were inducted in PFF D-Certificate Men Football Coaching Course at same city in March 2009.

PFF also asked Women Wing to adhere to the following while selecting participants 1. Understand, read and write simple English 2. Fit both physically/mentally 3. Age between 20-35 years 4. Involved with coaching of teams of school, college or university having their own soccer facilities and whose Sports cell has the desire to Develop football in future. 5. Actively involved as coach of teams of  prominent club, District, Province, National, Departmental level.
