Faisal Saleh Hayat achieve another milestone: becomes FIFA Disciplinary Committee member

Lahore, 16 Jan : Pakistan Football Federation (PFF)’s President Makhdoom Syed Faisal Saleh Hayat achieved another milestone when he was appointed  Member of Disciplinary Committee of Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA). According to FIFA Secretary General Jerome Valcke, Faisal Saleh Hayat met the new Designation during FIFA Executive Committee Meet in Robben Island, Cape Town (South Africa).” Please accept sincere congratulations  from FIFA Chief Sepp Blatter and myself. On this designation FIFA wish you success and enjoyment in your future activities for FIFA,’ added Valcke.
The game of football in Pakistan took long 63 years to confer a marvelous award on PFF Office-bearer. He is also the only person to hold the unique and unprecedented honor of having been elected in one of the FIFA Committees and Judicial Bodies. It is big landmark to get berth in FIFA Disciplinary Committee, headed by Swiss lawyer Marcel Mathier. FIFA has 208 member associations, which is 16 more than the United Nations and three more than the International Olympic Committee (IOC).

FIFA Chief has lauded the priceless contributions of Faisal Saleh Hayat for the promotion of football in Pakistan and said lately football was on a upward trend in Pakistan.” Pakistan has come a long way in terms of level of competitiveness in the last six years and PFF management deserves praise for making solid efforts for the promotion of football’, said Blatter hoping “I firmly believe that PFF would continue its journey in right direction under the leadership of Faisal”.

This is yet another exhilarating news for Pakistan football as PFF Chief was elected as Chairman of Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Disciplinary Committee on 15 July 2009 and now he is in FIFA. It is welcome gift for national football body of Pakistan as PFF Chief deserved such reward following his untiring efforts to promote soccer in Pakistan ,” said PFF’s Secretary General Lt.Col ® Ahmed Yar Khan Lodhi who added that it was first time in entire 63-year history of PFF that country’s soccer official becomes the member of FIFA Standing Committee.

Meanwhile, Hammam congratulated Faisal Saleh Hayat for becoming first-ever Pakistani to earn slot in FIFA Disciplinary Committee. “Faisal’s commitment as PFF Chief is triumph for Pakistan ’s players, coaches, referees and administrators. Becoming 17th PFF President on 28 August 2003, Faisal changed the fortune of Pakistan football with several landmarks and his period from 2003 to 2009 has been treated as “Golden Years of Pakistan Football”. Faisal pledged to continue his drive to youth development, women soccer and to modernize the game in Pakistan . PFF have achieved a lot in the last six years and enhancement of Pakistan soccer exposure to 3000 % from 2003 to 2009 as compare to Activities from 1997 to 2003 showed that PFF are serious in transforming football matters on strong plinth. It may be recalled that AFC Executive Committee had recognized Faisal Saleh Hayat's glorious work during AFC 22nd Congress, Kuala Lumpur on 8 May 2007 and have re appointed him as member (later on Chairman) of AFC Disciplinary Committee until 2011. AFC also approved him in AFC Disciplinary Committee (Indonesian Leg) of 14th Asian Football Cup 2007.
