President's Message

Welcome to the Pakistan Football Federation. We are looking forward to another enjoyable and attractive season of football in every nook of Pakistan in 2011

I feel proud to be President of one of the 208 nations affiliated with FIFA who also promoted me to FIFA and World Disciplinary Committee member while I was elected to the prestigious post of AFC Executive Committee during 24th Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Congress in Doha, Qatar. I am already working as AFC Disciplinary Committee Chairman.

Football is an exhilarating game, symbolizing strength, skill, fair play and sportsmanship. It does not need monstrous resources to manage, but still the game has not been able to get its stature which it would have achieved in a particular environment of the countries in South Asia.

We have made a number of structural changes to the operation of the PFF that I believe will significantly improve our ability to provide for our players, referees, administrators and coaching staff.

In 2004, we have devised a new structure for National Soccer on advise of FIFA and AFC, introducing A and B Leagues - Pakistan Premier League (PPL) and PFF League. In 2006, National Club Championship, introduced at Lahore, a C-Division event of PFF. The Leagues since 2004 are producing talented soccerites in the country and we have now teams of U13, U14, U16, U19, U21, U23 and National level. Our step tuned to perfection when Pakistan won the gold in 10th South Asian Games 2006 and put up commendable display against East Asian teams in 15th Asian Games at Doha. The year 2007 brought us double-legged victory over Singapore in Beijing Olympics Qualifier while history was created on 28 October 2007 when we held Asian Champion Iraq 0-0 at neutral territory of Damascus, and it was first time that we managed to block Asian Giants from scoring a single goal. Our U14 team put up fantastic display in AFC U14 Festival of Football in 2010 finishing second. Pakistan also met huge wins in international circuit when we beat Guam 9-2 in AFC Challenge Cup 2008 at Chinese Taipei's Chungshan Stadium in Taipei, Brunei Darussalam 6-0 in AFC Challenge Cup 2009 at Sugathadasa Stadium, Colombo, Sri Lanka and Bhutan 7-0 in SAFF Championship 2009 at Dhaka’s Bangabandhu National Stadium.

We have also introduced a concrete coaching and referees structure and are on brink of introducing National School and Futsal Championship while the documentation work of Beach Soccer is in full swing. On behalf of the PFF Congress, I would like to wish all the players, referees, coaches, their families and our supporters all the best for the season and encourage you all to be involved in our PFF’s activities.

FIFA and AFC praised our commitment and dedication with football when we launched National Women Championships at Islamabad’s Jinnah Stadium on 23 September 2005. It met great success and we organized five more editions in fom 2006 to 2010 at same venue.

For some of you, this will be the first time your children participate in a sport. We hope that this is the beginning of many years of fun and excitement for you. Whether you are 6 years old or above 40 years old, we aim to have a team for you to play in.

We are going for soccer promotion and if you are someone who is willing to lend a hand and has love for football I would be interested to hear good suggestions from you.

If you have any enquiries at all, please visit us at Lahore’s FIFA Football House or contact website www.pff.com.pk or ask PFF General Secretary or concerned Director on Telephones 0092-42-99230821-22 and Fax No. 0092-42-99230823 who will endeavor to answer your question. We are available at the PFF to help any one seeking future in soccer.
